Dec 03, 2025Speed Racer #5 is a ruckus action packed joy ride, with some of the best racing scenes in not just the series but the industry as a whole. Every issue in this series seems to out due the issue before it. This is a title that should be on your list to pick up this week at the LCS, and you should strongly think about adding this series to your Pull List as well. Read Full Review

Dec 03, 2025This isn’t a perfect issue, and I’m absolutely biased because of my love for the character. But for anyone who loves the Speed Racer universe, issue #5 is another strong installment in what has become an exciting and worthy addition to the franchise. Read Full Review

I don't really care about the whole Speed Racer IP ... never was a fan of the cartoon as a kid. I read this book because of how David Pepose writes the races and with Speed Racer 5 he wrote a fast and fun comic that stuck the landing for the first story arc. This is the kind of comic I wish there were more of ... fun, fast, and safe for all ages. I hope Pepose and Tinto continue with this title for many more issues to come, I will also start to seek out their work elsewhere. I'm sure the trade paperback will drop soon, it's worth getting, for pure enjoyment.
