    Ive never read anything by Van Lente before, although he seems to have been working in the comic book industry for some time. I really liked what I read this issue. The story was simple, yet complex. There was strong motivations and characterization. There was also some humour which is always good with Spider-man. I hope he returns for more stories.     Van Lente could really bring something to this series, but he needs more to work with than one D-List villain and a band of generic thugs. Though this issue leaves the doors open for further developments, I can't say I have a huge interest in a sequel. Let's keep the biting humor and move onto something more interesting.
