The debut of the NEW SPIDER-ARMOR! If Spider-Man hopes to find a way to defeat his new nemesis MASSACRE, he’ll need the help of his all new, all-power costume! But will protecting the people of New York mean that Spider-Man finally takes the last measure-- killing a bloodthirsty madman when there are no other options? (by the way, your first answer is wrong!)

Even with a few quibbles on the story, this is another strong performance on Slott's run on ASM. If you aren't reading ASM, you really need to stop what you're doing and go pick up these issues NOW and catch up because, 9 issues in, it is shaping up to be a historic run on the title. This is the best Spider-Man has been in years and Slott never ceases to amaze as he continues to raise the threat level for our hero. Coupled with the spectacular art style of Marco Martin, The Amazing Spider-Man is one book that needs to be a must on your pull list. Read Full Review

With that in mind, there's no way that this issue could match the heights of the previous one, but it came far closer than expected. Amazing Spider-Man is one of Marvel's flagship series, and it's always enjoyable when we get issues like this which remind you exactly why that is. Undeniably great stuff. Read Full Review

I did enjoy Amazing Spider-Man #656, however the fact remains that it was a return to form after a brief brush with greatness. I can't think of a time that Amazing Spider-Man has ever been anything less than decent, but issue #656 certainly doesn't elevate it to must-read status. Read Full Review

Spider-Man's presentation was outstanding. That final scene with hostages was so cool. I hated the costume but his use of it was impressive. He was not taking anything from that guy, it was really cool, if this is the Spidey well be seeing nowadays Im excited. Read Full Review

Major Spoilers - Stephen Schleicher Mar 21, 2011

Dan Slott continues to tell a spectacular tale in an amazing way. The web he weaves has me hooked, and Spider-Man's adventures seem more interesting because of his work. The new armor is not a brand new look, but considering we've seen three different costumes in this giant arc only once or twice, fans will more than likely see the red and blue than anything else. The art is very subjective, and may not work for everyone, but as always, your mileage will vary. Overall, I think The Amazing Spider-Man #656 is worth picking up, and earns 3.5 out of 5 Stars.
