Agent May is perhaps a character best suited to a one-off, a great deal is still not really known about her character so any chance to see more of her in action is welcome. The only large issue is that the comic honestly doesn't really bring anything new to the character. What it does manage to do is cement her into the Marvel Comic universe properly with a real role outside of that of the show, so it's very much a hit and miss issue as nothing new is really brought to this still mildly mysterious character. Cavalry: 50 Years of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a familiar albeit engaging foray into the crossover world between television and comics. Several references to "Doombots" mean that this doesn't sit entirely in a Marvel Cinematic Universe that is devoid of Fox-owned Fantastic Four characters, but nevertheless opens up the characters of the television series to a slightly larger world, even if it is in passing conversation. By no means essential reading for either fans of the TV series or readers of the S.H.I.E.L.D. ongoing, it's a rapid one-off story that is designed purely to keep fans of May happy. Read Full Review
