Oct 21, 2026Doctor Doom is Marvel’s most storied monarch and the company is spoiling readers when it comes to the character. While I’ve made the argument elsewhere that it might be too much Doom, there are some quality Doom books being put out right now, with Doomquest leading the way. This is a great book in general, so I knew I was going to get a good read with this issue but if I’m being honest, I wasn’t expecting it to be this good. Ewing was able to surprise me numerous times over the course of the comic in the best ways possible and D’Armata kicked the art into the stratosphere with his fantastic colors. At some point, Marvel is going to put out the Doom story that breaks the camel’s back, but Doomquest #5 isn’t that book. Read Full Review

Oct 21, 2026Doomquest #5 is a clever and wildly entertaining reimagining of one of Marvel's most iconic stories. Ryan North has a blast exploring what happens when Doctor Doom takes control of Sue Storm during Galactus's first arrival, revealing just how powerful the Invisible Woman could have been all along. Francesco Mobili's seamless transition from Jack Kirby's classic artwork into his own style makes the opening especially memorable, while the Silver Surfer encounter highlights Doom's arrogance and shortsightedness. The issue takes a brief detour from the series' historical adventures, but it's such an inspired celebration of Fantastic Four history that it's hard to complain. Read Full Review

Oct 24, 2026DoomQuest #5 lives up to the extremely high bar set by each issue before it. This series is as comic book-y as they come, and I mean that in the best possible way. This issue, featuring Doom in the body of the Invisible Woman during Galactus’ first appearance on Earth, had some fantastic sequences, great art, and a cliffhanger that makes the wait for issue #6 that much harder. Ryan North and the art team are on an absolute roll. Read Full Review
