You know what happened on that fateful day he first picked up a gun, now find out what happened next. Bullets will fly, killers will die...and a soulful simian will, for the first time, don his trademark suit and tie.
As we've previously seen, Hit-Monkey is played completely serious. Way is definitely winking at the audience throughout, but any humor is purely derived from the fact that it's a monkey doing all these things and nothing more. Way's smart writing, Dalibor Talajic's fantastic art, and a surprise character reveal on the last page should make this a fun series going forward. Read Full Review
There are a lot of ways these series can go. It has the potential to be an edgy bit of surrealism; but it could just easily be a one-note joke that doesn't go beyond what you see in the cover. I'm definitely curious to see what Bullseye's appearance here will mean for the Hit Monkey, although I do find it amusing that he's also showing up in the Shadowland preview in the back. It's cool, actually. I think, the show made the story kinda better, but it's still good here. Art is a bit dirty, but it's not bad at all.
