  (Cover Date: June, 1969) Summary: The Night Phantom destroys a Stark project plant on a small Caribbean island. Tony meets Travis Hoyt, a wheel-chaired writer who is opposed to the plant. After inspecting the ruins of the plant, Tony's jeep is upended by the Night Phantom. Tony wakes up to find himself with Janice Cord who is visiting her friend Hoyt. Hoyt reveals to Janice that he is the Night Phantom & got his strength from an underground radioactive pool. Iron Man finds the cavern that they are in. Hoyt tries to throw Janice in the pool, but she catches herself on the ledge. IM fights against Hoyt using his repulsor rays. As he pulls Janice to safety, Hoyt throws himself into the pool to gain additional strength, but falls through a c rack. On the flight home, Tony is torn between being with Janice & putting her at risk while he remains Iron Man. more
