Comic Book Revolution - Rokk Krinn May 12, 2008

Iron Man Viva Las Vegas #1 was a fun read pure and simple. And fun is something that you don't get that often on the vast majority of the comic books currently on the market. No, this issue isn't intricate and profound. But, not every comic book has to be. I can appreciate it when a writer just delivers an honest and well crafted effort to provide the reader with fifteen minutes of fun. Read Full Review

Judging from what appears to be on the horizon based on the not-too-subtle hints in the issue, it would seem that won't be a problem for too long. It's just going to be a bit of a wait until we see the results. Read Full Review

So while it's a somewhat slow start, with Favreau still getting his legs in the writing of superhero comics and Granov making time until he can draw more action, it's hopefully leading to a good payoff. Once we get to that armor-on-dragon action, it should all be worthwhile. Read Full Review

Weekly Comic Book Review - J. Montes May 6, 2008

As for the story itself, it feels a bit disjointed at times, but there are some good moments scattered about (like Iron Man being boo'd off the airplane). It's too early to tell if this series will be worth the price of admission, but I do like how Jon Favreau's writing style is much different from the norm. It's good that Favreau doesn't waste any time, the downside is this issue is over before you know it. If it continues at this blistering pace, a trade might be more worthwhile. Read Full Review

If you haven't read an Iron Man comic in a while, and you are jazzed about the character after seeing the movie, this isn't the comic for you. The one for you is "The Invincible Iron Man," written by Matt Fraction. That comic is everything this one is not. Read Full Review

Ha-ha, Favreau... I'm here only because of the Adi... He's brilliant. But there's nothing to see except the art... The script is so bad... These dialogues and everything. Favreau writes like a kid, not kidding. The story is weird too. Iron Man just takes a vacation. That's literally all... But yeah, it's still worth 7 minutes of your time to read it and see some good pictures.
