Journey Into Mystery is a hit in my book. I really enjoy this series and I'm excited to see if it's going to have the longevity and maintained quality that Gillen's run had before it. Immonen, Schiti and Bellaire are the ideal creative team for this series and this has been a great start toward redefining both the series and the character of the Lady Sif. Read Full Review
This issue is fantastic thanks to a great lead character, a terrific direction, awesome action and some stupendous art. If you crave for a good title with a female lead written by a female author, I urge you to give this title a try. Read Full Review
The buzz surrounding Journey Into Mystery spurred measured expectations in me, and this titlemore than met them. With Northlanders no more, I have been looking for some worthy Viking-style entertainment. Thor: God Of Thunder is more of a cosmic title, whereas this has all the Asgardian ass-kicking a soul could want. It is a lot of fun, with a mythic backbone and a pulpy heart. Journey Into Mystery #648 earns four and a half out of five stars. Check it out. Read Full Review

Immomen delivers another intriguing chapter in Sifs journey, balancing the bravado and action with Sifs slow but evenly-handled fall from grace. This story isnt glorifying or excusing Sifs berserker rage, showing the consequences of her destructive quest and the fallout it has on those around her in very interesting and compelling ways. Although I know Sifs landing is going to be a hard one, watching her exploits is still very entertaining, due in part to Immomens engaging storytelling as well as Schitis dynamic pencils and slick design work. Well-complemented by Jordie Bellaires colors, the artwork in this book continues to be a highlight. Overall this title has gained a nice stride and I'm looking forward to seeing where it takes us in the coming months. Read Full Review
FYI: Marvel has three female-fronted solo titles -- Journey Into Mystery, Captain Marvel and Red She-Hulk, and each one is distinct. Upcoming are two all-woman team books (Fearless Defenders and X-Men). Of these five, created by men and women alike, only one title explicitly mentions a character's gender. This is how you do it, Comics. Read Full Review
This is a creative team and book that snuck up on me. Immonen, Schiti and Bellaire are surprising and impressing me with the one fine issue after another. There's a deftness of hand in both idea and execution that makes "Journey Into Mystery" a joy to read. Read Full Review
Like Kid Loki's tale, Sif's story is a look at a Thor cast member in a new way. It is a huge story that has intimate moments of humanity and humor, and it will hopefully end with Sif as a stronger character than when it began. All in all, Gillen set a very high bar for this title, and while the verdict is still out on whether Immonen will reach it, she and Sif are certainly on the right track. Read Full Review
One thing that is for sure, though: artist Valerio Schiti is superb, with a weighty yet cartoony style that makes every punch and sword swing look superb. Looks alone keep this book swinging, and next month's guest star is a cash grab that, while crass, I'm pretty excited to see hit the page. Read Full Review
