Summary: The Norns foresee that dark forces gather to prevent the wedding of Mord & Una, but the Warriors Three may vanquish the threat. While crossing a bridge, Hogun runs into an obnoxious troll who he ends up tossing off the bridge. Having not been invited to the wedding, Loki decides to cause havoc to prevent the wedding. At the wedding rehearsal, Mord turns into a white goat & runs away. Una's mother, Sunna, finds a disguised Loki with a brown goat & tells him that it is the bewitched Mord. Loki tells her that there is a fruit at the far end of Elf Wood that will change Mord back. Hogun arrives at an inn looking for Volstagg & Fandral, who are not present. Sunna arrives with the goat & requests Hogun's help, since the wedding must take place on Midsummer's Eve. Mord's squire accompanies him on his journey. After the squire annoys Hogun while traveling through the thick woods, Hogun tells him to go back home. Hogun is then besieged by fairies who want to play games in exchange for a secret path through the Elf Wood. Hogun declines, & the fairies trip his horse. The goat falls off a cliff into a pond, & Hogun dives in to rescue it. Hogun reaches the far end of Elf Wood & finds the squire with his horse waiting. Hogun climbs the tree to gather the fruit from the top limbs. He is attacked by the guardian serpent & is wrapped in its coils. Hogun agrees to allow the fairies to save him. The squire tickles the serpent's belly with a feather, which puts it to sleep. The fairies hoist the squire to gather the fruit. The fruit is fed to the goat but nothing happens. The group laughs at the joke that was played upon them. more
