DnA make a smart decision in sticking to what works in issue one. While more in-depth character moments need to happen sooner or later, they're sacrificed at present until introductions were out of the way and the cast became more manageable. Combine that with the reveal of a couple more recognizable/well-rounded characters being added to the mix, and you have a solid start to a tie-in title. Read Full Review
Sadly, the future for this series seems to be more of the same with a decided focus on the rest of the Imperial Guard and Gladiator as a bit player. This intro issue didn't really impress me enough to recommend this a great deal, but I'm giving it a Check It for the upcoming Fault expedition, our first indepth look at just what it is and entails, and the possibility for more Talon and Gladiator offerings. Fans of Nova and Guardians will enjoy this, but those on a budget can feel safe avoiding it and won't miss anything. Read Full Review
I actually liked Imperial Guard 1 more than I thought I would. Kev Walker’s art fit the cosmic tone perfectly. Although we didn’t get any character moments between the Imperial Guard themselves, it looks like we’ll get some of that next issue as the Imperial guard are joined by the Starjammers to venture into the Fault
