The Weekly Crisis - Ryan Schrodt
Feb 22, 2011It took me quite some time to determine where this book would fall on the Rankings and what verdict it would receive. Paul Tobin's writing is stellar and could easily take in a Must Read verdict if I were judging the book on writing alone. On the flipside, the art isn't really my thing and is most certainly the wrong fit for this book. In the end, the writing edge the art out and just barely bumped his one up a level. Read Full Review

Weekly Comic Book Review - Dean Stell
Feb 18, 2011Minor art issues aside, I'm really enjoying this series. Having Anya square off against Ana Kravinoff is perfect and it gives us another chance to see more of that impish devil of a character who was the big bright spot from the Grim Hunt story line in ASM. Read Full Review

Feb 21, 2011If you happen to be a big fan of Anya you may want to pick this up, but even then the direction they're taking and the idea behind everything just bothers me. I don't know why they killed her father; she didn't need more tragedy to drive her. I don't know what happened to the rest of her supporting cast; but she does have friends. And if she doesn't have any powers, then why is she running around as a Spider anyway, let alone as a hero. Anyhow, this earns a mere 2 of 5 stars, mostly because while I don't like the direction the story is taking, the writing is still solid. Read Full Review
