I'll admit, I keep hoping for something more thoughtful from a High Republic book, but the reality is that one has to stick to the novels for that. What we get here is more fun if basic adventure material with a cast that I do like. Keeve has grown on me over the years. I really enjoyed the series when Ty was introduced so getting more of him older is interesting, and Lourna has been a surprising breakout character for me that has definitely hit her stride. The stories just feel disconnected in a way that's hard to pin down because of the nature of so much of it happening in the books of merit, while the comics feel more like clean-up or side stories without greater impact. I'm all for more standalone tales, but those also need to introduce more serious approaches to storytelling and not just big space opera designs. Read Full Review
