  (Cover Date: October, 1987) Summary: Tyrone has dreams of the disguised Nightmare suffering & of Cloak throwing everyone into the darkness. Dagger assures him that she will be there to keep the dark at bay. Sensing Strange's presence, Cloak & Dagger go to to the lamasery & find the New Defenders present. Dagger senses that they have no aura of living light. Valkyrie says that they are from the Land of the Dead after their fight with the Dragon of the Moon. Seeing Strange, Cloak asks for his help for his dreams. Strange uses his Eye of Agamotto on Cloak & is seized by Nightmare's giant hand. Everyone is pulled inside Cloak except for Rintrah. They find themselves in Nightmare's dream dimension with a giant Nightmare. Nightmare tries to sq ueeze Strange to death in his hand, but Strange turns to streamers & reforms. Nightmare puts Strange into a cage, & the New Defenders attack to free him. Cloak's shadow turns on him, while Dagger attempts to prevent it with her light daggers. Saying that Cloak must die for them to survive, Strange shoots a mystic bolt at Cloak. Valkyrie & the New Defenders escort Cloak through a portal to the Land of the Dead. Dagger grabs ahold of Cloak to stop him. Filled with the light from beyond the portal, Dagger attacks Nightmare with her more powerful light daggers. Feeling pain, Nightmare sends Cloak, Dagger & Strange back to the lamasery. Strange says that he had to deceive her about killing Cloak. more
