    So, despite my reservations about the general story, I couldn't help but be blown away by this issue. New readers who come into the story without those reservations may possibly love it even more. All that really matters is that The Dark Tower is back, and for the next five months we can all sleep easy at night. Read Full Review

    Those not familiar with the books can easily jump right in and follow the story though picking up the first series, collected in trade form, would be a wise decision. Eventually I suppose we will begin to see the Roland were familiar with undertake his quest for the tower but with a comic this good he can take his sweet old time. Read Full Review

    Jae Lee has become a master of style who also delivers the solid meat of a story, and here while backgrounds are conveniently blurred masses of colorful fog, the principle players have such character and the expressions and details of costume and posture are more than enough to bring each figure to vivid life. Theres a little bit of a sense of seeing a series of frozen tableaux, but the eerie stillness does befit the classic multi-genre hero quest, anchoring Kings pastiche of sources into a convincing world of its own. The covers for this Marvel-produced corner of the Dark Tower mythos have all been memorable, and this second volume of tall tales seems poised to repeat the success of the first. Read Full Review
