BEN GRIMM VS. WILSON FISK! To save the life of one innocent, can the Thing take down the Kingpin and his top enforcers? Can you even clobber the man who owns New York City?!
The Thing #5 concludes this short story and teaches us all a lesson in real life. Bullies are weak and scared, and it's how we respond that truly matters. There is a hero within us all, and this issue is something I think the world really needs right now. Go pick this up! Read Full Review
Mason delivers great art throughout the issue. The visuals are perfect for this style of story and the characters within it. Read Full Review
Tony Fleecs and Justin Mason stuck the landing perfectly! This was a straight up street-level Thing story from beginning to end - not a Marvel Knight type of tale … this was much more fun! This is the best Thing (and FF) story I have read in years and hope to see these two return for a second helping. If you missed the single issues grab it when it’s collected - just good comics - highly recommend.
Plot
Ben manages to reunite Sara with her mother, but her uncle is there, and she becomes frightened. The revelation is that the uncle was going to sell his niece to Kingpin, and Hammerhead took her away without paying him. Naturally, Ben punches him, and Sara almost kills him with her powers.
Hammerhead reappears, now with fire-based powers, as Kingpin is creating supervillains. Ben defeats him with Sara's help.
Ben visits Kingpin and hands over Sara's uncle, warning him not to mess with the people of Yancy Street again.
An exciting conclusion to this miniseries, full of action and large-scale battles.
