Kitty Pryde carries this book in a way that would make Joss Whedon proud. He's the last guy to do her this much justice, even though that was back in the 616 universe, yet her indomitable spirit has been carried across universes and publishing imprints alike. Mach Two's followers are there to hamper Kitty at every turn whether she's trying to secure their reservation or just find a way to feed everyone. President Captain America had an interesting effect on the X-Men, so now that Tony Stark has shown up, I'm even more stoked to see what changes he brings to the table. Read Full Review

I've been a firm believer that ULTIMATE COMICS X-MEN was a book people need to read, but I had no clue it would become my favorite series in the Ultimate line of comics. While there may be a lot going on here, which makes these smaller pieces of the larger story feel a tad rushed, it's still brilliant nonetheless. The aftermath of the major Ultimate crossover book is just as good, if not better, as the event itself. This is a great new take on this team and world.Overall, I highly recommend this book, unless you hate awesomeness. Read Full Review

Ultimate Comics X-Men has recaptured the magic of what the Ultimate universe was all about. It will be remembered as one of the most exciting things to happen in comics, but the past few years has seen a dip in the quality of the titles. Brian Wood is doing his very best to make this a relevant title again, and I believe that he is really succeeding. I really look forward to another mind-blowing issue with a ton of action and eye-catching artwork. Read Full Review

Weekly Comic Book Review - Matt Sargeson Dec 18, 2012

All-in-all I'm slowly coming round to this book's charms, though I'd say it still has a fair way to go before it proves itself indispensable. The best stuff always seems to be just over the horizon, and Wood seems content to take his time getting there. That's all well and good, but with so many great comics on the stands right now I could just do with a little more forward momentum from Ultimate Comics X-Men to prove that my investment so far has all been worth it.
