    In the end, Ultimate Spider-Man Annual #2 is a rather by-the-books action story. Its still perfectly enjoyable, but pales in comparison to the novelty of last years edition. However, its worth mentioning that the conclusion is much more intriguing and open-ended than I expected. Daredevils final words could very well be the launching bad for a story possibility that has me frothing at the mouth. After a somewhat predictable and ho-hum wrap-up to the action, its a real treat to hear the genesis of what will hopefully be the upcoming Bendis/Marc Silvestri project Marvel has been teasing.     There is irony here, and it comes in the very end, as reality is contrasted with the limited thinking of the men/private dicks/existential realists anchoring this story: it turns out someone does mourn Jeans death despite everything. That revelation allows for a powerful ending, because it throws a new light onto Bendiss morally relativistic world. If there are no heroes, then there also arent any villains. Just people in conflict, making choices. Some more selfish than others. Read Full Review
