Garth Ennis concludes his epic run -- in style! They threw up a wall of good men to shield themselves from the Punisher. Now these men of influence and privilege are going to pay. Frank Castle is about to bring his personal war to their doorstep!
Thank you, Garth Ennis for an extraordinary run, a memorable series and for giving myself and all readers the most true and definitive interpretation of Frank Castle. Read Full Review
I can't say enough about Garth Ennis' run on Punisher MAX. For my money, it's the best work that's ever been done with the character. I just wish Ennis was a little more focused on giving us a fitting conclusion to this story than he was preaching about the Vietnam War. Read Full Review
I don't know if Garth Ennis will ever come back to work on The Punisher. I certainly hope so. I wish he'd gone out with more of a bang. This issue is more of a fade away than a spectacular burnout. I was expecting something huge, something that would be near impossible to followup. Instead, I got a solid story that feels anticlimactic because it's the end of the Ennis era. Read Full Review
Thank you, Ennis. For writing the best Punisher run of all time
For me, this run was..... okay. It had high moments, but I think the edgy language of people saying f@ggot, and ret@rd cussing so many times in one panel ran its course. I like how it deals with uncomfortable real world subjects like human trafficking, and how just Frank Castle gunning down people won't solve the issue as it's a systemic issue. It shows how someone who lives like Frank Castle will be miserable, and people who are freed will still face trauma. It's just that it didn't hold my attention due to me not being a fan of Garth Ennis writing.
Not the best issue to end the run... But it's sad that's it for Ennis on Punisher. At least he closed the last loose storyline here. Hm, I hope the following 15 issues are at least okay. I think I also need to check all the one-shots...
