    The House is one of the rare books that does horror so well it could make the competition look lazy. Starting with a good story is key, but creating a foundation that can be built on for a long time to come is nothing short of impressive. Hats off to these guys!     The House has a chilling premise that grabs hold of you from the jump.  Everyone can relate to a creepy house.  Maybe it's one you avoid down the block or an abandoned building around the corner.  Now imagine being trapped in there with no way out.  Everywhere you turn is just more hallways, stairs, and doors, none of them leading to the outside world.  Did you hear that?  Something's coming for you.     With this only being an eight-issue mini-series I would give it another shot. I don't know if I would just keep throwing chances at it, but it didn't put me off enough to skip it. So far there's only been one true scene of horror so it would need to step up that element to keep me. The biggest obstacle though is that it feels too familiar and is playing it too safe. If The House wants to hook readers, it needs to be just like the House itself, strange and inviting but filled with horrors and right now it's not. Read Full Review
