Aug 18, 2021It's obvious this creative team has approached this comic with great love and respect for the original books, novellas, and short stories. Although the changes made to the story might not appeal to purists, they serve an overall purpose of folding all of these stories into a tighter, more cohesive narrative, and, so far, it works. Michael Moorcock says that this is the "best graphic adaptation of the story," and I have to agree. Fans of the character or just sword and sorcery stories in general should check this out. Aug 18, 2021ELRIC: THE DREAMING CITY #1 is the best example of a high fantasy adaptation into comic form. Without much beyond a passing knowledge of the source material, the creators bring you up to speed on the lore and plop you right into the action with tiresome exposition or volumes of dialog. The story has a swashbuckling fantasy feel that gives off strong Robert E. Howard vibes, and its a heck of a lot of fun to read. Read Full Review
