The script is charming and straightforward, and the same goes for the art. Glidden's pages certainly won't bowl readers over in their detail or composition, but she offers a clean, approachable style that takes great care to capture the architecture and other trappings of her destinations. The watercolor finishes add an extra layer of brightness and clarity. From what I've seen of the original self-published pamphlets, the color alone may justify a repeat purchase for old fans. How to Understand Israeli in 60 Days or Less is a worthwhile read for any comic fan who enjoys autobiographical work or enjoys being exposed to foreign cultures with a more personal touch.
