    This is not even a matter of setting a bar too high. This comic just never really gets off the ground. That's not to say that the remaining four issues can't be exciting and feature intriguing character work, but this issue has neither excitement nor valuable characterization. Gage and Ross attempt to develop characters by having old friends banter, but it is really nothing that we haven't read a million times before - especially if you've been following Bucky and Steve Rogers in Captain America. But more so than the stale dialogue, the book is just plain boring. There's action, but it is brief and meaningless, so the bulk of the issue revolves around the reader asking, as Steve Rogers does at the end of the book, "Why regroup the Invaders and why are they being so vague about the story's conflict?" I have a feeling that the mini-series will get more interesting when those questions are answered, but for now we just have an average comic book that is tough to recommend to even the big Read Full Review
