Fabletown's cloak-and-dagger expert Cinderella is back in action for "Skulduggery" part 1! This time she's on a secret assignment, a nasty little job to pay off a debt she owes to Frau Totenkinder: find a small package and deliver it to Fabletown. Seems simple, but nothing ever is for Fabletown's expert at espionage.

It takes another fable, a certain Mr. Hansel, to finally take her by surprise towards the end of the issue, and even then her intel is far better than his. This is a fun, action-packed little adventure, and yet another example of how adaptable this concept is: Spy-thriller one week, sword-and-sorcery epic the next, and all sorts of charmingly Vertigo things in between. Another winner from a master of mixing the playful with the macabre. Read Full Review

It's becoming harder and harder to plow through some of these stories, even if they are entertaining, because the feint aroma of the upcoming epic is slowly creeping within the range of my nostrils. Again, its hard to find too much fault in this particular issue, as it does a good job of telling a charmingly violent story, however, it's becoming harder and harder to fight the part of my brain that just wants Willingham to get on with it already and tell the story he promised so very long ago.
