Thessaly the witch presents Edwin and Charles with an impossible choice in this series' thrilling conclusion-what would two dead boys be willing to sacrifice to save themselves from the terrifying unknown, and the very order of magic as they understand it?
Stokely delivers some beautifully detailed and haunting imagery throughout the issue. The visuals are filled with great energy and disturbing moments that showcase the stakes for the characters. Read Full Review
This mostly seems like it was setup for Thessaly's next move, but the story Pichetshote built around it is packed with genuine, emotional moments that make it another big win for this line. Read Full Review
This entire team has created a memorable, fun, scary romp that has never ceased to delight. I have bought the individual issues, and would happily own a collected version too. Read Full Review
Although this mystery has drawn to a close, and lays additional groundwork for other Sandman Universe tales along the way, it will leave readers looking for the next Dead Boy Detectives adventure, especially if it comes from Pichetshote and Stokely. Read Full Review
I love Thessaly as a character but it's becoming clear that she should have had her own series or something.
This issue was all over the place. It's actually very similar to the end of the first Nightmare Country miniseries. Yes, it's a continuation of the story, but it feels like they keep shoehorning this Thessaly plot into otherwise unrelated stories, and in the process, completely ruin the flow and pacing, and endings, of the stories they're telling. It's baffling.
