The crew of The Black Sable have been in tough spots before, but this might be their toughest yet. Caught in the middle of a triangle of death between the deadly Space Kraken, Captain Blood and the Federation, their quest for the lost treasure they seek is put on hold as they look for a miracle that can get them out alive.

    The Black Sable started off as promising tale of space piracy, and though it has had some highlights through the first half, the predictability of this genre is starting to catch up to the title. Although it did redeem itself within this issue with a touching reflection on Sable's past, the rest of the narrative watered down the effectiveness of such heartfelt encouragement. And as more characters are introduced with their goals conflicting to the Captain's, it seems as if the waters ahead will become ever choppier and it will not be smooth sailing until we reach the questionable end.     The Black Sable #3 is a smartly crafted addition to the interstellar franchise! As the creative team continues to chart this own course with pirates in space, the whole of the tale spins with ease. It's hard not to smile when I think about where things might go from here, as the cliffhanger plus the scenes prior tease several ships, and their crews, on a surefire collision course with treasure at the very center.
