While the overall maturation of Grimm's Tales of Terror was disappointing with the banal horror tales, the idea behind it could have grown into something entertaining if the writers would have created new stories. But, with the trend of Hollywood to remake classics for the current generation, you really can't blame Zenescope for their lack of vision. Grimm Tales of Terror #13 gave me, as a reviewer and fan, something to enjoy.It may be the end for now but take heart for Keres will return with another go at theseshenanigans beginning around Halloween. But in the mean time grab this up because you won't regret it. Read Full Review

This issue of Tales of Terror, featuring said temptress, is the last in this volume and tries to deliver the big shock. For the most part it does. Written by Joe Brusha, the plot is pretty standard, though there is a flair to the script that gives it a recognisable feel rather than a "seen this a million times" kind of vibe. That is no mean feat as, annoyingly, the inside cover blurb tells you what the story is which in my mind, dilutes the set-up a little. Where Brusha does excel, is the portents of doom that follows the lead character. Read Full Review
The end result is a bit disappointing, but the series still deserves some credit for trying something else. It is not a story which is ever really eerie, nor does it give any sense of great tension, but it at least captures some of the elements of the genre. It has succeeded in other issues in its run, but it falls a bit flat here. Perhaps the best thing about this issue is the blurb at the end, indicating that Zenescope intends to return with the series for a second volume, as this series has been pretty good overall, even when individual issues, such as this one, don't really succeed.
