For a second issue, this chapter makes great leaps of progress. The action, story, and gore build a suspenseful plot that will delight and sicken readers"and I mean that in the best way. Some minor editing would do this series a great service. Nevertheless, this book executes well. Read Full Review
Grimm Tales of Terror pulls on a very real fear that most people have. It takes a little while to get to the scares, but it has a decent pay off, plus some bonus bloodshed with a book-ended scene. On the scary scale its not freaky on the level of The Conjuring, but the gut-wrenching blood and gore scenes with the flesh eating spiders were admittedly awesome. Theres not as much fear or suspense as I would have liked. If I was to describe this it would be like a greed driven treasure hunt that backfires, searching for a prized artifact much akin to Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones, with a slight horror twist in that not everyone gets out alive. As if the first book wasn't good on its own, the second one knocks it out of the park! Great stand-alone story, but now you start to see the "Grimm" reaper making her appearance. Don't listen to the pundits -- this is the best horror anthology out there!
