Oz: Return of the Wicked Witch continues amazing readers as the narrative unfolds with an emotional opening, making those pessimistic as to the cruelty of this crimson beauty now reflecting upon Mombi with compassion and sympathy, even as we wonder if such shocking loss could make ourselves react in the same way if we had the power to reshape the world as we see fit, and never taking into account the loss which we have faced may all be due our own misguided ambitions. With fantastical illustrations and vibrant colors that make the world of Oz explode upon the page, it is an overabundance of detail and lack of attention paid to some which detracts from complete immersion, but even as these stumbles chase away some of the admiration for these images, one cannot but stare in amazement for the panoramic beauty of this quickly changing world.
