Although the book is only ninety story pages, there has been so much story squeezed in that its a pretty weighty read. The great people from Zenescope have also added almost forty pages of extra content with the single issue covers and previews of other titles. I realize the answers are probably to be found in the first The Waking limited series, but Gregory definitely should have provided more exposition for potential new readers. A text piece on the inside front cover, maybe a two-page flashback sequence... give me something. That's why I'm left with the impression this Zenescope title (and perhaps many others) is meant to exist as an exclusive club for early adopters. Obviously, I know the Zenescope folks would prefer to expand their reach and their brand, but the execution has the opposite effect. Read Full Review
If you loved the first volume of The Walking this will pull you back into that world seamlessly, if you didn’t care for it this might not have what it takes to get you to buy in. Read Full Review
