As antagonizing as the delays were, this was well worth the wait. I've been a die-hard fan of Geoff Johns for 2 decades and even I was wondering if he could wrap everything up that he started in issue 12 but he did and in a neat little bow. I love the revelations/changes made to Superman, Wonder Woman, the Justice Society, Earth 1985, and the Legion of Super Heroes. I'm really hoping we get some books showing more details on how all of these characters' histories play out. The art was spectacular as well. Johns and Frank brought their A-game with this series.

Great first issue! The story-telling captured the overall feel of the TV show almost perfectly. Johnson's depiction of Lynda Carter was spot-on and I love his redesign of the Silver Swan. His Steve Trevor could use some work(especially lightening up his hair a tad bit). Overall, it was a huge success!

I'm really intrigued by the storyline so far. Diana seems to be pulled in several directions at the moment and the old crone is taking full advantage of that for whatever reason. I'm very curious to find out who the blue-skinned villain is as I'm guessing that she is the old rogue that Meredith claimed they were overhauling. David's art in this issue was even better than in the last. Diana looked noticeably older and I really liked her combat gear(with the small exception of the midriff). What a shocker seeing Donna back on the last page! I'm really excited to see where the Finchs are going with Donna's story!

After the last few issues being sort of blah.....I was really impressed with the way that Finch wrapped up her and some of Azzarello's lingering plots. Between the 2 stories in the Annual, we finally find out why the Amazons are so distrustful and bitter towards men. Hippolyte's mother(the former queen) was poisoned to death by a man. A very young looking Derinoe was infatuated with Hipppolyta and upon saving Hippolyta from an assassination attempt, was struck by a mystical dagger that turned her into the old crone we've come to know. As for the battle between Diana and Donna, I really enjoyed it. Diana was very in character with telling Donna the real meaning of being an Amazon which is to embrace their fears and build one another up. The best part was that she was able to stop Donna, not with a bladed weapon, not with deception, but with her Magic Lasso. Being bound in the lasso showed Donna the horrific truth of her programming by Derinoe and the look on her face states how horrified she was over what she had done previously. I have to say between the characterization, revelations, and amazing art, this Annual was well worth the wait! The Finchs may continue on IMO.

What a breath of fresh air this issue was. Was it perfect? No. But it's a lot more in line of what I would expect from a Wonder Woman comic. This is, IMO, David's best art ever. It's distinct, detailed, and really makes each page "pop". The brighter coloring really lifts the mood of the book tremendously from Azz/Chiang's run and the best part? Not a single one of the Olympians or Zola in sight so far. The attack on Swamp Thing made sense as all clues indicated that someone with his abilities were behind the disasters and then Diana finds him at the scene of the crime. I don't think it's a huge stretch to think that he was behind it all given his usual agenda of promoting plant life. I thought it was very realistic of her to vent to Aquaman. I thought it was great that it was him instead of Superman or Batman for a change. It makes sense that she would open up to him given that they both come from royalty of hidden civilizations. While some may have found it whiny, I think it's only human of Diana to need to voice her frustrations with everything she's had going on lately. I wonder if the old Amazon is the same one from the Pre-New 52 that created Donna Troy? They look similar. Overall, I enjoyed the issue and think that the Finchs are off to a good, solid start. 8.5/10 BTW - was I the only one who was hoping that when Diana stepped out of the shower at the beginning of the issue, Steve Trevor would greet her and hear her say, "I had this horrible dream last night that I was actually the daughter of Zeus......"?
