Days of Hate #1 |
Jan 15, 2018 |
Taking all of this together, I have the feeling that DAYS OF HATE is destined for greatness, so I'd recommend it to just about any comics reader mature enough to understand the political issues depicted, and particularly to those who read comics for the art in them. |

Haunted Horror #32 |
Feb 10, 2018 |
The stories in HAUNTED HORROR #32, like all pre-Code horror tales, are hard to rate on the standard five-star system since the charm, the appeal of the stories and illustrations are something quite separate from what one might call "excellence" " yet the appeal is very real. For those of us who do love pre-Code horror, there's no better source than the HAUNTED HORROR series. |

Redneck #9 |
Jan 26, 2018 |
Certainly, REDNECK has got enough action and gore to satisfy readers looking for the kind of excitement that vampire fiction provides. However, the series is driven not by plot but by character, as the best stories always are, so even the most discerning readers will find much to like here. |

Rock Candy Mountain #8 |
Mar 2, 2018 |
I would recommend ROCK CANDY MOUNTAIN to just about anybody who reads comics regularly, and I'd likewise recommend it to anybody who needs their spirits lifted. In fact, this is just the kind of series that we geeks can recommend to the comics pre-literate, because it has enough action to keep anybody turning the pages, even while illuminating the ability of comics to say things that matter. |

The Longest Day of the Future #1 |
Jan 3, 2017 |
This is the first time I've ever said this about any book, but I would recommend this book to just about every single person on Earth. After all, it's wordless, so there's no language barrier; furthermore, its depiction of mass indoctrination would resonate with anyone, while its message on consumerist culture is sorely needed in much of the world. There is some violence, but it's not the kind that would disturb children overmuch. Speaking of children, reading this book is just plain fun, and kids will love it. |

The Spire #1 |
Dec 19, 2016 |
In conclusion, I found this book to be a solid effort in most respects. I couldn't find an age recommendation anywhere on the book, but it's clearly an all-ages title, albeit a fairly sophisticated one. I would recommend The Spire for most comics readers, and particularly for fantasy-genre enthusiasts. |

All in all, then, I liked The Shadow Glass okay, although I didn't see anything particularly noteworthy about it, so I hesitate to tell you to plunk down your hard-earned money for it. On the other hand, it's worth checking out if your local library has it. |
