Argentinian cartoonist Lucas Varela has crafted a wordless thriller reminiscent of the work of Jason (I Killed Adolf Hitler). In a futuristic city, two mega-companies engage in a battle to eliminate the other. Will the crash of an extraterrestrial flying saucer change that? Under the guise of a science fiction fable, Varela has spun a searing indictment against consumerism and unfettered capitalism.
This is the first time I've ever said this about any book, but I would recommend this book to just about every single person on Earth. After all, it's wordless, so there's no language barrier; furthermore, its depiction of mass indoctrination would resonate with anyone, while its message on consumerist culture is sorely needed in much of the world. There is some violence, but it's not the kind that would disturb children overmuch. Speaking of children, reading this book is just plain fun, and kids will love it. Read Full Review
