Scarlet Spiders #1 |
Nov 27, 2014 |
So from the beautiful artwork to the intelligent story this book really has it all and more importantly it has completely sold me on the Spider-Verse event. I came into this fearful that Spider-Verse would just be a parody of a real comic event but it's not, it's actually a brilliant base for writing stories just like this one. No it isn't perfect but honestly it's the closest thing to being perfect that it really doesn't matter anyway. Costa and Diaz are a stunning team and these next two issues will be the most anticipated books of Spider-Verse to me. |

Angela: Asgard's Assassin #1 |
Dec 10, 2014 |
I have to give this one a high score for its strong story and elegant artwork. Between this, Thor and Loki: Agent of Asgard now is a very good time to brush up on the Asgardian side of life. On a final note if you missed this issue and are looking to pick it up after the fact pay a little more and get the Skottie Young variant, his depiction of Angela really is quite cute. |

Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye #35 |
Nov 28, 2014 |
The book overall is definitely a solid launch pad for this story, the artwork as always is beautiful and the story includes every detail and more needed to make you invested in it. The only issue really with this book is it's all well and good to want to present a confusing story that makes the reader think but if you start to sacrifice the smoothness and flow to achieve it then you will just discourage readers. I appreciated the addition of Transformers Armada's Hot Rod and Transformers Animated's Bulkhead being added as both have not been featured yet and both are fan favourites. Transformers " MTMTE #35 certainly opens up a wide realm of possibilities which is really the main task of any good writer, and while I couldn't recommend it to a new reader I could certainly debate it and its possibilities for hours with a seasoned reader. |

Chastity #6 |
Dec 10, 2014 |
Chastity #6 is a good book, there is no doubt in that, but I want the story to read more like a reboot and less like a retelling. Seemingly throwing away 7 years of character development on a single line is ridiculous, it just is. However this story has huge potential and when he finally reach present day (whenever that may be, hopefully 2014) the stories should really become relevant and brilliant. |

Spider-Man 2099 (2014) #6 |
Dec 4, 2014 |
Spider-Man 2099 #6 is a great example of a tie in book done correctly, and despite my fears presents the same consistent humour and intelligence it did prior to Spider-Verse. If you like Miguel and are a fan then this is definitely worth the read but if you were struggling then now's the time to jump off this train. |

Superior Iron Man #2 |
Dec 1, 2014 |
In closing I still feel like this series has potential to eventually rival Superior Spider-Man even if it doesn't run for as long. The artwork isn't bad here although it doesn't particularly wow me either and the new Iron Man suit looks more like something from out of Tron.I think it's still too early to pull out of this book, hopefully the next story arc will entertain me more. |

Earth 2 #29 |
Dec 10, 2014 |
This series began life as one of my favourites but over the course of 29 issues has gone the same way as New Avengers until it is simply filled with too many characters, doing too many things that I just don't care about. Individual ongoings would help to keep me invested despite paying extra money but as for now I am giving away this book, call me when it becomes relevant again. |
