All-in-all, Batman: Cacophony is a bittersweet issue. The dialog and art are good, but the story at this point is not as strong as I was hoping it to be, and well see how well some choices play out. If your comic shop has copies on hand, check it out, but dont really go out of your way to find it if your shop doesnt have it.

As a fan of the Joker--and, of course, there is one more issue for my mind to be changed--I cannot endorse Smiths iconoclastic decision to deface this character. Overall, I find the story (and the choices made within it) to be a contrived and cheap substitute for substance.

Unfortunately, these steps were not effectuated and the writing falls just short making for a flip through read. All-in-all, this comic falls just short of forgettable and isnt something that will spark conversation.

Now, this series doesnt seem like it will really offer anything unique, but so far it appears to have a solid foundation and has the potential to keep the readers attention throughout the rest of this installment of the Warhammer saga.
