Masters of the Universe (2012): The Origin of Hordak #1
Jun 28, 2013 |
Although a decent tale with a little insight into the motivations of Hordak, it is not an essential story to read if you are following the main He-Man comic, or if you are planning on picking up the DC crossover. Speaking of the crossover, there is one image at the end, that is either a very coincidental shadow, or crossover tease. |

World's Finest (2012) #13
Jun 13, 2013 |
A better issue then the last several have been, but it still lacks something. A book about Earth 2 characters trapped on the main New 52 Earth (New Earth, Earth 1, Earth Prime?) should feel a little more connected to the DCU. Levitz started to achieve that a little with Helena's relationship with Damian, but he is gone now. Now that Kara and Supergirl have met, hopefully we will see more from that as well. Levitz can only delay Power Girl and Huntress meeting Superman and Batman, respectively, for so long before readers lose interest completely. |

World's Finest (2012) #14
Jul 12, 2013 |
Ice cream incident aside, this has been one of the better issues to date. The action and story was tighter than it has been. This has been one of the first issues of the series, that I am excited about the next issue. Are the Worlds' Finest taking a trip to Apokolips? This could be a game changer for this series! |

Constantine (2013) #4
Jun 13, 2013 |
Jeff Lemire and Ray Fawkes have crafted a single-issue story that puts you into the mind of Constantine, who will be a major player of the upcoming Trinity War. This issue certainly points us in that direction with the warnings of Zatanna and the parrot. This issue also plants seeds for the future of Papa Midnite and the Cult of the Cold Flame. If you want to read all the tie-ins for Trinity War, Constantine #4 serves as a great jumping on point! |

He-Man & The Masters of the Universe (2013) #3
Jun 28, 2013 |
This series has been great so far. It has been a lot more in depth than expected, and it doesnt feel like the merchandise-driven franchise of the 80s. This is an epic fantasy story that is painted with very broad strokes. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride! |

Justice League Dark #20
May 24, 2013 |
The story itself, continued from the last issue, is fun, captivating, and chilling at times. This issue shows a certain level of insight into the psyches of all the characters, that worked. A lot of the time this method drags on too longover several issues. Here it was a quick peak, before they snapped out of it with a flash. There are signs of the upcoming TRINITY WAR crossover as well. The reveal at the end had me anxious for more. Xanadu has some ‘splaining to do! |

Justice League Dark #21

Once again, JLD does not disappoint. There was plenty of action and story. Questions were answered, and yet new ones were raised. (Xanadu and Deadman? Really?) The team is now in a precarious position going forward. Also, it didn't hurt that this issue was titled after a great Misfits song! Next stop…TRINITY WAR! |
