Plus, the curiosities of the bag and things we can glean about possibly amusing events from Armstrongs long life and just the endless potential for humour in it all are for me a HUGE reasons to give the comic a try.

I suppose I seem like a real gleeful kid but I can't help but say that while it was the thing I was most apprehensive about when I saw the initial pre-series information, you should read it all if only for the flashbacks which are lovely and poised to make this the seminal tale of young Clint Barton.

If you haven't been reading it, you might want to give this a try. Seriously.

Read it if like me you are an older reader of Archie Comics who just doesn't much care for the high-school tales of the regular comics but just wants to have a little fun " plus this doesn't have the overall darker tone of the Afterlife With Archie series and that along with this being a one-off make it worth it just for kicks.

So read it for a few laughs and some curiosity, but unless it gets notably better in the next issue where they are back in Riverdale with the Predator on their hells, this series might be a step back compared to the strides this publisher has been making.

Highly recommended read and I can see a slightly slow-burn unravelling here as it was with Prophet. But if this comic is even partly as good, it'll be worth it and definitely better than most comics out there most weeks.

Entertaining enough and maybe hardcore Bat-Mite fans will enjoy it (I know they're out there, I just don't "get" them), but for my part I was very luke-warm to the whole thing. While the art was very enjoyable and the end reveal made me curious, I don't see myself bothering to read another issue of a comic where I would love to see slow, painful death come to the lead character. My respect for Bat-Man always goes up every time I see Bat-Mite in general (and this incarnation more so) and see that Bats has not found a way to lock him in a hole forever or just end him " you're a bigger/better man than me Bruce.

Like Jack Burton (who?) always says: If you liked the original movie, if you like cheesy comedies, puns, cheeky humour, action comedy adventures and a hilariously creative take on supernatural adventure tales " this is THE comic of the year for you. Okay maybe he doesn't say that, but you get the idea. Go read it now.

All in all it's not a bad tale and the reveal at the end lends itself to interesting possibilities. But I didn't find it either terribly enticing or all that unique aside from some slightly over-whelming but good art " though the potential remains. The choice of showing what happened to the two wayward pods seems too easy or too derivative in a sense, depending on how you look at it, but for now I'm willing to give this a couple of issues before making a judgement.

Seriously, this event really feels like DC editorial was just so confused and swamped by what they thought was cool vs what fans liked vs what they thought fans would like, that they just decided to make up an event where they just throw s**t at the walls from their refuse pile and see what sticks.

As a fan of the original back-up stories, this was a nice bit of nostalgia reentering the world of Renee Montoya as The Question. In a sense it was almost as if Rucka took out the original scripts from before the cancellation, dusted them off and just threw in the minimum required editorial event-mandates and sent it to the art team.

Turns out this is one of a series of new comics coming out under a new "creator-owned" effort over at IDW and if this is any indication of the kind of talent they are fostering, I'm definitely game to try the rest! Highly recommended new series if you want something new and fun.

A good, solid and interesting comic that pushes what we know, builds worlds and people we can connect with and enjoy exploring and despite it's dark subject matter, remains an intriguing comic.

It's a gang story not unlike the cult-favourite "The Warriors" movie and has the same kind of tension, grit and violence in it. It's a brutal tale and despite its female-heavy cast, doesn't feel forced or unbalanced.

After three successive issues that were a downward spiral for the character, this issue revived my interest and did bolster my faith in Soule's writing chops. But except for liking the new villain, I'm not enjoying most of the rest of the ongoing elements and narrative of this newest incarnation Couple that with the dislike I have for the distinctive but distracting and somewhat dirty looking and you have a very real chance that I will be dropping this series within the next issue or two at most unless the story suddenly pulls me in completely in a way that it hasn't been able to for four issues.

It's a good, solid read that actually takes two characters that to me have been little more than sex symbols for the most part and puts them in a story that actually tries to be something more and to play on character rather than titillation. In this it is only partially successful but overall it's worth a try if you like a little horro-fantasy and a change from a lot of the over-gory and torture-porn-ish stuff that is often mistaken for horror these days.

Bottom line, if you liked the predecessors, it's a good finish. If you like Valiant, it's fun enough and more enjoyable as it has no real stakes in the larger Valiant Universe. At most, an entertaining diversion.

Unless you are a Deadpool-hater, you should definitely pick this up out of ALL the 'pool-books out there. Actually, even if you hate him, this is the one to give a shot, just because.

It's a good issue. It's fast paced and fun. But like I said, it lacks a little something. There is a depth that I have seen with the other issues of Logan Legacy which I didn't get here. Don't get me wrong. It's still a fun read, just not as much fun.

This could be a good series, Edmonson knows how to write one for sure and this kind of spy-esque funky adventure is right up his alley but it's not off to an auspicious start and that finale with Black Tarantula" It's fine, but I'm not impressed.

Cannot wait for the final issue to get here, regardless of my reservations about it being too short. Thus far neither this writer nor this publisher have given me reason to doubt their skills and their intent with their comics and so I'm betting it's going to be fantastic!

But this issue, while it had me apprehensive which I've been ever since I heard about the merger (however it eventually pans out) between the two Earths, showed me nothing good was coming of any of it all.

Not a bad comic. It has some potential, though it suffers from a problem many comics do now-a-days which is the annoying TV practice of drawing out a reveal and trying to build mystery and all that. The end result is that some folks like me see it as a writing for the trade collection and not for the singles and as a fan and person buying the singles, that's a bit annoying.

Decent read, shades of something that could get good. Nostalgic-senses starting gingerly to find ground both new and familiar to grab hold of " but only time and future issues will tell if this sequel was truly worth making.

I'm now utterly done, if this turns out to somehow come together in some fantastic way then "hooray!". But even then, I don't care because maybe my expectations went in a different direction and Palahniuk just didn't want to go that way and wanted to throw caution to the wind and have fun with it. That's fine and I'm sure will appeal to some, but despite his ability to still write a roaringly entertaining tale, this one's lost me and even the amazing art can't bring me back to cross the finish line.

Not a bad comic, but got a way to go before it's a good one. I advocate support for it as there's definitely something here that if we given time and some fanning of the flame and some creative over-sight and tighter editing on both script and (to a lesser extent) on the storyboarding and consistency in the art, this could actually turn into a good comic with a nice new comic universe.

Definitely a book worth trying out and after the build and the explosive ending, I look forward to the next and hope that Perez and team can make this into the kind of solid scifi adventure for which I'm hoping here.

If you are a fan, I would definitely recommend it and if you're curious, it's worth reading for at the art at the very least which is great.

Anyway, the bottom line is that it was a fun enough read, very brisk and light despite the action-heavy goings on and at the end (which fans of the franchise should LOVE) I was actually feeling good about it and realised I wouldn't mind reading the next issue.

If you are a fan of more upbeat superhero comics " not just the grim-dark ones " and of superhero comics in general, you need to be giving this comic a shot.It is a great example of how a thing doesn't have to be too intense, dense, over-blown, gaudy, hyper-anything and can even be drawing on cliches and archetypes and still be smart, innovative and engaging.

An entertaining but ultimately ho-hum comic that carries on the action-heavy DC comic mainstream standard. They've produced some decent books the past few years but sadly their core books like this one remain mediocre at best " though it is better than I remember JL being when last I tried to read it. I long for the days when Johns wrote stories like Sinestro Corps War which was absolutely excellent in every sense and made me love his writing.

For anyone not-so-familiar, it is a true pulp-hero adventure, where the good are good and the bad are oh-so-bad. And there are no caped flying men and super-teams here, this is old-school heroic adventure in the best sense and I would say it is a must-read for anyone longing for an end to the bloated super-world we are stuck in too often nowadays.

If you've been enjoying the series or are not familiar with the old Lobo comics, go ahead and read it. But I would recommend go read the old ones, buy the trades if you like, because to me this comic is now one of the stupidest exercises DC is performing. My fondness for the Main Man will no longer allow me to keep forcing myself to read this watered down horse-piss that it has become.

I would read more of this. My problems with the comics not-withstanding, for now the story remains entertaining and the backup content " strips starring "Little Dick" the warlock and a short tale about the troll "Tim" from the main story " really add to the chuckles and do give us something more to the story we just read. I remain uncertain about how they will maintain this dense-level of comic and fast pacing without burning through too much too fast, but until then this promises to be a fun, laugh-inducing comic that fantasy fans with a sense of humour should get a real kick out of reading.

However for me the random starting point is a big question mark and while the writing isn't bad, it seems to hearken back to the cheesy tone of the show " which I suppose for some is what they will want, I won't bother really reading it if it does that though, because I already have that in the old show and could just go rewatch it if I wanted that. I would hope that they could keep the youthful positivity and lighter tone and such and not go all dark, but it would have been nice to have more real sounding dialogues and conversations and such.

All in all, I actually enjoyed it. There is always worry when a beloved property is adapted into a new medium. (*cough* bat nipples *cough*) But I feel that MMPR is off to a good start. Aside from providing an interesting story, the issue is also fun and nice to look at. Kyle's love for the property shows in the way he tackles the story. Aside from the little quirks I have with the art (Sue me, I'm a fanboy) [actually don't sue me. I can't afford it.] this is actually a great series and I can definitely read more.

While this may not be the Mockingbird you expect. It is the Mockingbird you need. (Heh Batman) This awesome team has delivered something that is truly cool. All the changes and problems that Mockingbird is going through haven't been explored anywhere else and this gives us a great insight into the problems Bobbi has to deal with. Cain has done a great and gripping story, she is taking risks but so far it seems totally worth it.

This is a really under-stated but amazing comic and I would really recommend reading it " in fact THIS issue is a good starting point as it's a whole new arc.

Onyx #1 gets it right in the sweet spot when it comes to sci-fi for me. Aliens, monsters, robot armours! I'm like a kid in a candy store. I hope the story stays as strong and the characters evolve some more. This is definitely on my to read and follow list.

Definitely could turn out to be a genuinely good take on this concept (as opposed to the over-the-top waste of potential that was Nemesis), what with a good maniac and a pretty well crafted and interesting protagonist, one that you would not expect to necessarily be the hero. The fact that she's a woman and also non-caucasian is a bold choice because a woman being hunted/played around with by a maniac who others don't believe her about could be a great tale or one going horribly wrong. I look forward to more and hope the writers can make this all it can be! The art while serviceable was fairy weak and so that loses the issue some points from me, but it's not a reason to not give an otherwise good, solid comic a try.

All in all this is not a light and breezy comic, but it's a good solid read and if you like interesting characters then Punk Mambo is definitely your lady. Can't say if she's ready to carry her own series but I'd definitely look into it if she did and in the meantime I'd settle for seeing more of her now and again in Valiants other titles.

It's insane, it's clever, it's inventive, irreverant, strangely honest, quite well drawn and just plain "Good!".

This is a good, old-school action comic with a solid fantasy twist. Read it.

After a slow start with the first two issues that kind of just got the ball rolling, the pace, complexity of story, action, characters and pretty much everything has gotten kicked into a higher gear once Thor is on his journey and I for one can't wait to see where it goes. Simonson is spot on with his work and shows that time and age matter little when one has the creativity, skill and willingness to use them both.

There will of course be some degree of familiar ground as with many fantasy tales, HOWEVER, this series does a damn good job distinguishing itself from many stories that try and bring in varying mythologies and folk-lore into popular fiction. I can't say if it will fall victim to clich eventually, but for now it is on an upswing and seems set to take its readers on a bloody entertaining ride " literally and figuratively.

It all comes together to give us a nicely crafted adventure and mystery with just enough science and futuristic concepts mixed into the basic running, gunning and intrigue to keep you on the edge of your seat. Coupled with a nice art style that just pops to life under the excellent colours by Jordan Boyd, all in all I quite enjoyed this latest entry into Image's lineup of comics.

Mainly, I'm waiting to see how their interaction/chemistry pans out in the immediate couple of issues to follow because while story is critical, I could go along with a weaker story if the team dynamic and the character portrayal was even a patch on the last one.

If you have not read it yet, this is one that I would recommend to EVERYONE who likes to dabble in different comics and is looking for something interesting " and even if you're not, give it a try, you might be like me and find yourself surprisingly reading issue after issue dilligently.

Definitely a series I would recommend to someone who is tired of the same-old over-blown and almost melodramatic superhero saga-fixation that is the status quo.

I will be picking up the next issue for sure, but only time will tell if this is just a slightly shaky start to a fun new Superman story or the gentle first curve before the insane roller-coaster ride begins for real!

The ambitiousness of the series alone is enough to recommend checking out whichever title catches your fancy. That said, this is a mostly well-crafted and definitely well drawn and coloured comic. The first issue was great at cramming in things and this one at going for more open style and together they have been good fun to read " so if you haven't read it at all, definitely check it out. You might find yourself reading the rest of the Swords Of Sorrows before you know it!

If you were a fan of TMNT style adventures and, like me, remember some of these characters and such, definitely worth a read. Good, clean fun.

Starlins pencils are good, about the only good thing about this really terrible beginning to a series that I am going to just flat out ignore and hope you do too.

I'm a sucker fro great characters and good world building and this series shows tremendous promise on both fronts.

A very rare instance when I have nothing but praise for the art and none for the writing. I was hoping that my assumptions and the hubbub about Finch being a poor writer were mere fan-rage, but this comic does little to kill that image and I'm definitely not picking up this comic anytime soon. Or any other of their "Grimm.." line if this is any indication of story quality.

It still has some merits, but I'm disinclined to give it any further chances. Perhaps I'll read another Zenescope title next time and hopefully find something better.

Definitely a title worth reading. Not only should you read it if you are a Valiant fan, but you should if you like superhero/high-adventure comics and stories in general because Kindt and Lemire do a bang-up job and made me want to immediately want more at the end of the issue. Far, far more than any of the work they've done for the bigger companies and franchises.

Hands down one of (if not THE) the best fantasy comics I have ever read and this is just the eigth issue!

As always, I heartily recommend this book to any and every fan of fantasy out there " interesting, clever, funny, action-y, adventurous and intriguing. Worth it.

I suppose all-in-all its quite harmless, though it is highly ridiculous. But hey, its your kid!

If there's a comic from amongst the Vertigo relaunches " and amongst comics in general " that you should be reading and should give a chance to, it is undeniably this one.

If you like a good war story, comic or otherwise, this series is off to a stellar start and you should give it a look.

From the first few pages of the first issue you find yourself utterly drawn into this story that places massive emphasis at first on world-building and drawing you in and as we've gone from there to this third issue, we are slowly getting more character development to balance out the brave new world and it has been a joy to read.

This comic has all the beginnings of a great new take on a pretty bloated and clich-filled genre. Will it survive and manage to steer clear enough of the things that have made many of us sick of seeing wolves all around us? Only future issues will tell, but I'm sold enough to give it a shot for now.

Overall the comic is fine enough, albeit more than a little underwhelming, but would I recommend it to those like me who enjoyed the previous run? No.
