A lot happens and while a big chunk of it is very typical for "boy gets to pilot a robot" stories, the tone is very different from many mech series, so "Mech Cadet Yu" #2 is worth checking out even for those who don't get particularly excited about robot stories.

The series getting to continue past this issue feels well justified thanks to the new direction of the plot and the neat artwork.

"Motor Crush" #6 lacks some of the atmosphere of the previous arc, but has plenty of emotional moments and good art.

The "New Gods Special" #1 isn't very special despite its title and intentions to honour one of the greatest comic creators of all time.
