This is a promising start to a new arc, and one of the things that makes it succeed is balance. Tomasi doesn't just throw the boys into the thick of the action; instead, he lets them be boys (Jon especially) and is willing to slow down long enough to let them grow. Throw in some nice action beats and some truly obscure villains and the book is as exciting as it is moving. Overall, Super Sons continues to be super fun book, that knows what it's supposed to be, knows when it can be a tongue in cheek and it is not afraid of taking itself too seriously only to make fun of it within the same issue. Super Sons #6 was pure fun from beginning to end. Peter Tomasi continues to do an excellent job writing the unique dynamic that Robin and Superboy share with one another. Adding the Teen Titans to the mix further added to the fun as Superboy now gets a chance to prove himself in the eyes of his peers. The first issue of a new story arc can often be far too much setup and not enough story. By adding a scene about the core dynamic of the Super Sons in the beginning of the issue, Peter Tomasi gives the issue an individual take-away before setting up the larger plot. It's nice to see Jon rubbing off on Damian, but also to see the reverse, as Jon is beginning to take the idea of being a hero more seriously and less like playing. Tomasi and artist Jorge Jimenez welcome the Teen Titans into their book with solid characterizations. This book is one of the more recent Rebirth books that, if I am honest, I wasn't particularly looking forward to. However, six issues in and my mind has been changed, dramatically. Theartwork by Jimenez is good, with a touch of anim, but he steers clear of it inrendering the Titans (though Starfire hardly looks like a teen to me). Robin's neverending scowl doesn't get old - seeing him get put in his place some is great! Super Sons is Super Fun. Yea it is.

It was fun. Laughed at Jon meeting Gar. Still very confused with the Rebirth Starfire age and her backstory tweaking. Also, any idea who was the clay master in the prologue? The Time Commander input is just going to give the crazy adventure a nice nostalgic 70's B&B
