I look forward to reading the remaining eleven issues of this limited run. They're building towards an interesting exploration of the universe beyond the movies. The team at Dark Horse impress with an interesting and faithful rendition of a popular and familiar franchise. |

This book sets up what will hopefully be amazing team-up between two iconic sixties institutions. There's so much potential and based off of the first issue, I don't think there's anything to worry about. |

This book doesn't disappoint. Its characters are interesting from the get go, the art looks amazing and the basic premise is intriguing. Add that to the mystery of how Ich got these abilities and you've got a strong opening to what has the potential to be a fascinating series. Keep it coming. |

Overall this is a great book and the simplicity of the plot works in it's favor allowing the narration and the visuals to be the focus. My first foray into Conan comics was a definite success and it's thanks to the team working on this series. |

In conclusion, this is a missed opportunity plot-wise but with someone great art. A great premise that sadly wasn't taken full advantage of but perhaps that's due to the limitation of it being a one-shot. |

Joyride #1

As a start to a four part limited series, this book is such a great kick-off. It's enjoyable, has great pacing, nothing seemed redundant and the characters are endearing, for the most part. I look forward to the next issue and should the creators wish to turn it into a continuing series, the possibilities are endless. Bring on issue two! |

This series has gone from strength to strength in just two issues. Boom! Studios are knocking it out of the park at the moment with their output. Kudos to all involved. Now I just have to impatiently wait for issue three. |

Yet again Boom! Studios more than holds it's own against larger comics companies by focusing on the writing and character development while marrying it to some fantastic artwork. I haven't regularly read a monthly comic for years and with Joyride and Power Rangers, Boom! Studios have definitely got my interest. |

Judge Dredd: Mega City Two #1

Overall, this isn't a bad book–just perhaps my expectations were too high, and I was looking for a different kind of Dredd story. Having said that, something more interesting happening in the first book might have made me want to read the second one. As it stands, I may give it a pass and seek out different tales of geekdom's favourite future lawman. |

To round it off, this is a series I've been waiting for without knowing it–for years. It gives me a mature, complex version of a universe I fell in love with as a child and updates it. This is for new fans and old fans alike, and I think it'll be a great series if the quality here continues. I will definitely continue to read this series for as long as it runs. |

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (2016) #5
Jul 24, 2016 |
In a nutshell, this issue takes what's come before and adds an extra layer of awesomeness in the form of a shocking revelation. It gives Zack more depth as a character and explains his demeanor in previous issues. This is turning out to be one of my favorite comics since Batman: Hush and that's high praise indeed. |

This is a great start to the story and a very personal one for the main character, Kimberly. I, for one, look forward to seeing what happens next and would urge anyone who has a soft spot, not just for the Power Rangers but also for well produced comics, to check this out. This mature take on the Power Rangers Boom! Studios is giving us with this and the main title is some of the best tie-in material I've read for years, and there's plenty more to come. |

TMNT: Amazing Adventures - Carmelo Anthony Special One-Shot #1
May 29, 2016 |
I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get into it because of my unfamiliarity with Carmelo Anthony, but it didn't impede my enjoyment one bit. The story was simple but effective and not too taxing. And this being a one-shot, the story is stand-alone and self-contained. This is a perfect lazy-day read when you just want something light and fun but still “turtle-y” awesome. |

Xena: Warrior Princess #1
Apr 14, 2016 |
This series has potential to be great but this particular issue suffers from having to reintroduce the world of Xena rather than getting the story going. It's a struggle that we see in most superhero movies. Usually the second offering can just hit the ground running and that's what I look forward to seeing with issue two. |
