All-Star Batman #1

Aug 11, 2016

Cover to cover this is an excellent comic that set up two really interesting stories that look promising and will hopefully continue to shock and surprise. Snyder is back and by the looks of things hes cutting loose and letting everyoneon the book with him do the same. All that can only mean is that we are in for a wide ride down the long road ahead because if the meter is to be believed, we still have 497 miles to go. Let's ride.

Grayson Annual #3

Jul 1, 2016

This third annual is a wonderfully fun P.S. for the series that wasn't wasted and took some time to add a couple of delightful last notes to Grayson's spying days. The issue ends with Dick and his backup Helena leaping off of a roof to go find their next adventure. Wherever that next adventure may be, if Dick Grayson is involved it's going to be a good time. Regardless of whether they fit into the continuity or no,t stories like this are a welcome shakeup from time to time.

Green Arrow (2016) #1

Jun 16, 2016

The development feels just a little pushed in comparison to the last issue with Dinah leaving in such a hurry; however, it doesn't take away or distract from the larger story. Getting to see Oliver take on even the slightest responsibility for the company with his name on it is a promising change of outlook for his character. On the last page Oliver was left in pretty bad shape, once the dust clears here who knows whats in store for not only Oliver and his family but his future with Dinah as well.

Green Arrow (2016) #2

Jul 14, 2016

Oliver has a long road ahead of him, between needing to come back from the dead and getting a handle on his life as he now knows it. Now that Oliver has nothing but his identity as Green Arrow, it opens up storytelling opportunities that have the possibility to teach him things that he may never have known because he always had unlimited resources. At the end of the issue Oliver has lost faith in himself and as he heads off he knows that people close to him the general public also don't believe in Oliver Queen. Regardless, Oliver still believes in Green Arrow and he knows that others will too.

Green Arrow: Rebirth #1

Jun 11, 2016

Thanks to Rebirthlove is in the air and that makes it an exciting time for our heroes. Percy and Schmidt with this one shot alone have laid the groundwork for what looks to be a promising beginning for Oliver and Dinah.

Hellblazer: Rebirth #1

Jul 24, 2016

This is the third series that has been about John Constantine since 2013. That can be a difficult undertaking especially when one only just ended a month or so before this debut. Overall, this issue was confusing and didn't really give any impression of the direction that series will be going in. It leaves the reader asking questions. Were the cameos from Shazam, Wonder Woman and Swamp Thing just a nod to the larger universe or an indicator that John will be more involved with it? Why didn't Mercury receive a proper introduction and will we see more of her? What was the point of show us that John cares about nothing but his first major mistake that he made with magic? If this was an attempt at a refresh, it missed. There wasn't enough here to really impartan impression and that's disappointing to say the least, considering the rich history there is to mine. We will just have to wait and see where The Hellblazergoesfrom here.

Nightwing (2016) #1

Jul 30, 2016

Over all the art is clean, vibrant, and kinetic. The writing is smart, witty and has depth of plot. All of theses things make Nightwing #1 an amazing comic and a really good start. The creative team seems to where they want to go and how they want to get there, while leaving just enough questions to keep readers coming back for the next issue. Nightwing made an excellent first impression during its Rebirth special and keeps that feeling rolling well through its first issue. There is little doubt that this is going to be on the top of reading lists as this new story unfolds.

Nightwing (2016) #2

Aug 7, 2016

Seeley has readers asking all of the right questions while Fernandez and Sotomayor are making it more than appealing to the eye. It's exciting to explore Dick's identity and watch him weave his way through a shaky new partnership. This book has so much potential and from what we have seen so far there should be no need to worry about it going to waste.

Nightwing (2016) #3

Aug 22, 2016

This arc is coming to a close fast and ultimately what Seeley, Fernandez and co. have set up is going to be a test for Dick. He is going to have to decide where he falls in the order of things and it look like he's going to have to do it on his own. This is a really enjoyable issue that effectively shows how Dick is just putting his foot in it again and again. Here's hoping that he gets his head on straight soon and stops standing up Barbara.

Nightwing: Rebirth #1

Jul 14, 2016

While Dicks adventures in the pages of Grayson where a fun romp they also managed to be extremely moving at times. That's why it's exciting to have the talent that just explored new ground for the character move with him into his next adventures. Having the opportunity to develop a character across multiple titles is a rare opportunity and if this Rebirth issue is any indication of where the series is going to go, there is no doubt that the funny and enjoyable stories to come will further the character and pleasantly surprised any new reader.
