Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees (2023) #6

May 8, 2024

It's perfect, a little odd with the stylistic choice, but as a murder story, PERFECT! Patrick Horvath should stay in this world and tell more stories; I would love a mystical murder mystery. Could you imagine a cult of Devil worshiping Goat people? My mind is spinning with possibilities.

Dick Tracy (2024) #2

Jun 12, 2024

I can tell this is going to be a great run. With Mad Cave behind it and decades of characters to play with. I hope the team dives into the toy box of time and pulls out some very deep and off-the-wall characters.

Feral (2024) #5

I truly can tell you don't catnap on this series!!! As a cat-dad and lover of all things animal. This book has me hooked! I know I'll submit a pic for the end pages, and maybe I'll see my cats there! Because what else is the internet for?

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero (2023) #303

Jan 17, 2024

I really want to see where this goes but like i said the think those few pages out of the main story felt more like speedbumps than staying on track.

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero (2023) #304

Feb 21, 2024

Larry Hama is moving so many pieces around on the chess board, and now introducing Destro has flipped the board entirely into RISK! There are so many factions and subfactions in them. So, choosing to build a setup at this point is wise. You can't just have all action you need to build the plot.

Ghostbusters: Back In Town (2024) #1

Mar 27, 2024

I hope the writing does something to redeem this mediocre median. Is this going to be a sugar-coated ghost trap? I think so!

Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: II #3

Jun 26, 2024

Being used to the several crossovers the Rangers have done in the past. This one is by far one that has been paced out and respected both franchises' source material with great care. The next 2 issues are by far going to be at the top of my list!

Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: II #4

Jul 24, 2024

Like I said, this is all set up for the big finale. The whole plot and everything goes according to plan, as seen in any particular episode of Power Rangers. Seeing how this is going to sum up the finale leaves me with a lot of concerns. The fact that this is going through so many different dimensions and how they're going to interact with each other at the end and either go into a third part or sum all up and tied up with a bow

Marvel Meow (2024) #1

Jan 10, 2024

Nao Fuji is an unstoppable force in this book, doing everything himself! Writer, Pencil, Colors, Inks, with the exception of 2 variant covers, it's all him! So when you get the 64-page Mast-purr-piece. It's a one-man show of stunning talent sure to bring a smile and new understanding to the world of Marvel. Fuji has also done another HC Marvel Meow story in 2021, and let me tell you, it's the cat pajamas!

Masters of the Universe: Revolution (2024) #2

Jun 19, 2024

This book is a perfect "adaptation/continuation/exploration of the best story from the Masters of the Universe franchise in decades. The art speaks for itself like I said. Having heard the characters on TV, you hear their voices in your head because it's not forced, but they come with the same tone. That goes to show that everyone involved on this project VERY MUCH understood the assignment.

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (2022) #122

Jul 24, 2024

I am so ready for the conclusion and resolution. This story has taken over a year to tell, and I'm not complaining about that, but I am just so ready sitting on the edge of my seat that it needs to be done. With the big announcements coming up from SDCC this week and the new stories coming soon from Boom! Studios, there is a lot riding on how the gird, the rangers, and the everything gets finished.

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Return (2024) #1

Feb 7, 2024

Call me a cynic! It's not a perfect issue, but it's a very solid showing. There is potential in the long run; we need to get there. Also, don't forget this is a #1 from Boom! So that means there will be at least 83 variant covers. GOOD LUCK!

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Return (2024) #2

Mar 13, 2024

Knowing that we are painted into a certain amount of issues, certain things have to get cut. Having said that, did we really need 10 pages of a fight scene? Yes, I know it was on two fronts. But if they cut two pages and put it somewhere else, could that have affected the payoff at the end of the book?

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Return (2024) #3

Apr 10, 2024

The only big hiccups were the fact of how easily the other power coins were obtained. Giving Selena the atypical twisted story of who saved them as a baby seems also like it was an easy write off but hopefully that will be resolved later. It also leaves so much story on WHO raised her and HOW did she come into her own powers? These are all simple answers lets hope that the next few books are paced right to tie up the loose ends and not have to leave big plot holes to fill IF we get another chapter after this arc.

This hits every right spot! There is nothing truly wrong with this issue. I think the pacing was okay but rushed at the end.

Ranger Academy (2023) #6

Apr 3, 2024

Not only do we get to see our "teenagers with attitude at school go through some actual teenage things. But the fact is that also, in the last issue, a few spandex breadcrumbs were laid for cameos. I was FLOORED who actually showed up!

Ranger Academy (2023) #7

May 1, 2024

Solid work all around, but as I pointed out, there may have been a few missed opportunities. My hope is that we start guiding the "Zord away from the coming-of-age teen stuff and get to the main good guy and bad guy stuff.

Scarlett (2024) #2

Jul 4, 2024

Damn, near perfect, the cliffhanger just killed it for me, in a good way!! I'm not so patiently waiting for the next issue! Kelly Thompson and the rest of the team bring such an action-packed female lead book that makes you realize how many facets a soldier has to face. Moreover, adding to the hurdles of being a woman trying to find herself speaks volumes.

Scarlett (2024) #3

It's a heart-pounding issue at a breakneck speed. Once you pick it up, you'll be on the last page. Now, where we go next with the big reveal at the end is very important, and I'm eager to get my hands on the next book.

Spider-Gwen: Smash (2023) #2

Jan 10, 2024

Melissa Flores has kept the tempo up in this second issue. Right now, it's a fairly straightforward story. But hopefully, I can see a bit of a coming-of-age story developing around the edges. Gwen realizes that this Earth is her home, and even the Mj's accept Gwen's unique circumstances rather than chiding her about it.

Star Wars: Mace Windu (2024) #3

Apr 17, 2024

The Action is there and viewing Mace Windu prior to becoming the stoic Jedi Master is great because we haven't really seen his skills in practice. Not meaning just his lightsaber skills but those of a teacher and sage. It's all building up and of course having a story outside of the Skywalker Drama is always appreciated.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles / Usagi Yojimbo: Saturday Morning Adventures (2024) #1

Jun 13, 2024

This 40 page one-shot read just like a perfect episode. It takes me back to the feeling of sitting in front of the massive console TV set in the living room with a bowl of sugar-frosted sugar puffs with marshmallows, of course. Burnham delivers a solid story, and the art by Lawrance, which is filled with color from Delgado, is perfect!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Nightwatcher (2024) #1

Aug 14, 2024

CWK: This was definitely a fun issue! The Nightwatcher's dialogue was fantastic, and the fight with the kidnapper was action packed. The artwork shined in a way that represented the TMNT universe well. Deep, rich colors give the eyes a delightful and exciting view while staying balanced with the dark nature of the city and the story.
