Action Comics (2016) #1033

Aug 5, 2021

While Superman has a new lead character, Action Comics continues the adventures of Kal El as he deals with the fallout of Warworld. This is a worthwhile comic to pick up, as the entire Superman line of comics has not been this intriguing in a long time.

Justice League (2018) #67

Sep 21, 2021

The Justice League wraps up their battle with Synmar. The book itself is fairly straightforward and action focused, which leads to a fun but mostly forgettable read. Hopefully The Justice League can move onto a newer and more pressing arc soon.

Nightwing (2016) #78

Mar 9, 2021

Nightwing #78 is a perfect return to basics for the character and truly masterful usage of yet another soft reboot event for the DC continuity. Dick Grayson returns in full form and the issue leaves the reader with a better understanding of the title character as well as a hunger for the next step in this story arc that has yet to unfold. With perfect storytelling and masterful artwork, Nightwing #78 is the fresh start Dick Grayson needed and is a true return to form for superhero comics as a whole.

Nightwing (2016) #84

Sep 21, 2021

Nightwing #84 follows its predecessor with a refreshing change of pace that succeeds in changing the direction of the story and allowing the reader to see the world outside of Bludhaven without removing the importance of Dick's new home. Watching Nightwing balance his responsibilities and his interactions with family is always an attention keeper. The writing and art keep us thoroughly informed and entertained while at the same time making sure we are not over-exposed. Another winner for Tom Taylor and company. I cannot wait to see what he has in store for the OG Boy Wonder. Get this issue asap!

Witchblood #1

Mar 25, 2021

Witchblood #1 is a high-energy, vibrant-colored ride through the wild west. The issue is a fun read mostly in part to the vibrant characters and visuals. While there are some missing hooks for readers, the series has the tools to improve. Between Erman's writing and Sterle's art, readers who wish to enjoy a road trip with vampires and witches are in for a treat. Entertaining with room to improve would accurately describe this first issue, and I can't wait to see more of Yonna.
