As they battle a Penanggalan in the Philippines that may be in league with ISIS, the Godkiller's ?rst Arab-American of?cer is forced to grapple with both his inner and outer demons. From writer Mark Sable (Grounded, Fearless, Supergirl) and newcomer artist Maan House, GODKILLERS is a monster story for the modern age.
This issue is about getting its feet in the water and painting a picture of where the future is headed. It's fascinating that the comic creators are going beyond the basic understanding of what a vampire is and doing something more with vampires and going deeper into the lore of vampires. This issue goes into a certain subspecies of vampires, penangglan, that originate from a different country and I hope further issues continue on this path. Read Full Review
Bottom Line Upfront, issue #2 did a lot to quell my fears that the title would be unable to execute such an ambitious vision. The problem is that the balance in between myths, religion, beliefs systems and governmental intervention is so delicate that any wrenches in this clock's cog mechanism might send the story's wire awry.
