Back again: The book that turned the comics industry upside-down with "quite a bit of humor...[and] a lot of heart" (The New York Times). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, tackles his biggest challenge in 2000 years: babysitting a child with super powers! Meanwhile, his roommate-the superhero called Sunstar-faces his greatest enemy, and his own guilt, in a court of law. Written and co-created by 2022 Eisner winner Mark Russell with art by co-creator Richard Pace and Leonard Kirk.

If you enjoyed the first two Second Coming series, Second Coming: Trinity will offer more of the same quality comic content. Mark Russell is comics' finest social commentator and his script here is a prime example of why that is so. The artwork by Richard Pace and Leonard Kirk is fantastic, and well backed by the colors of Andy Troy and Rob Steen. My only reservation in recommending Second Coming: Trinity is that you really should read the first two volumes first, though you could easily pick this book up and read it without having done so. A third helping of the satirical, but always philosophical series that sees the Son of God return to Earth and, well, babysit for Sunstar as we get to see the other side of the coin and read up on Cranius' story and feel sorry for the bad guy. 'Second Coming: Trinity' kicks off another feel-good arc that satirically pokes fun at superheroes and religion with a velvet hammer instead of a brutish mallet. Russell cares for these characters and you will too. Russell will make you feel things. It's a triumph of smart evocative writing told from the heart and without cynicism. Read Full Review
