The new artist on Buffy the Vampire Slayer #27, Carmelo Zagaria, energizes this issue with a style that combines the best of photo-real and American-comic-standard style. We get a look at the new big-bad, and I can't wait to see how the Buffy, Kendra, and Faith figure out how to deal with him. Read Full Review

I'm enjoying this different take on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I'm eager to see how this story will play out, particularly with this new villain that I'm sure will give the Scooby gang a tough slog to victory. Read Full Review

A much needed slower issue, it'll be interesting to see how Jeremy Lambert manages to continue spinning all these different plates, while giving the characters time to shine and develop, and push the plate forward. He's got a real challenge ahead, but so far seems more than capable of continuing that. Carmelo Zagaria's art looks great as well, a nice fit for the world of Buffy. Read Full Review

Yet the script devotes too much of Buffy the Vampire's Slayer #27 to watching the characters talk in circles about a villain with barely any presence. Read Full Review

I liked the slower pace, although there are a lot of storylines that don't feel like they're as fleshed out as they could be because they are stuffing so much into these little books. I'm looking forward to what's coming!

I read this in tandem with last week's Tea Time one-shot. This is such a disappointing read after that one. I just... man, maybe we should reboot the reboot??
