In nature there are gods older than the devil... Nothing can prepare you for what's coming in this violent, electrifying descent into this bloody, black metal infused revenge saga.

Val, an American metalhead attending a festival in Oslo, begins her penumbrous pilgrimage into the vast depths of vengeance.

After her victimization at the hands of a charismatically vile local band, the Old Gods of Norse Mythology guide her along her path in the name of women everywhere.

Will she walk a warrior's path... or become a behemoth beyond human recognition?

    Capes & Tights - Justin Soderberg Oct 1, 2024

The Creeping Below is a daring experiment that melds mythology, music, horror with modern-day angst that is rare in comics today. While its initial pacing might test your patience, both Azzarello's intricate layers along with Del Rey's and Jenkins's artistry promise payoffs down the line. The Creeping Below is a great addition to the horror season. Read Full Review

Del Rey delivers some great art throughout the issue. I love the dark, moody tone of the art and the final few pages are beautifully ominous. Read Full Review

No word of a lie when I say I didn't see this book coming. I'm not always a fan of Brian Azzarello but sometimes he seems to just hit a home run with me. The art was an absolute joy that told so much of the story by itself. Great first issue......JM

This book was not very good. It did not flow well at all. The art was a little distracting and muddled, but for some reason I will be back for at least issue 2 due to a somewhat intriguing ending.

I don't know why I buy Azzarello comics. I've never liked any of them. Not a single one, but here I am buying yet other Azzarello lead comic. Guess what? I didn't like it. His writing style and characters are so fucking cringe and bad. Hopefully, I learn my lesson this time around, but probably not.
