Dark Horse Comics deserve some praise here for putting the teams together for both this series and their other Howard Estate licensed book, King Conan: The Hour of the Dragon. Both series are in my top picks of 2013 and I really hope they keep these adaptations coming. With incredible artists and great writers Dark Horse and the Robert E. Howard Estate have a dedicated reader in this FTN reviewer! I cannot give Conan and the People of the Black Circle issue three, anything less than a perfect" Read Full Review

Conan and the People of the Black Circle #3 is, in my mind, an entry that would make Robert E. Howard proud. Highly recommended. Read Full Review

Conan and the People of the Black Circle #3 is another solid issue in this series and does an excellent job of demonstrating why the Black Circle is viewed with such fear by people. The events in this issue move the series along wonderfully and builds the anticipation for a confrontation between Conan and the Black Circle, and for the rescue of Queen Yasmina. I still feel that the interactions between Conan and Yasmina have been underdeveloped but there are enough events taking place to make it stand out less and make this series still feel engrossing. Should you buy Conan and the People of the Black Circle? If you've never read any Conan before, it's a great snapshot of what his universe is all about without throwing too much at you. If you're a die-hard Conan fan then you'd probably only buy this for the stellar art and serviceable story. Perhaps trade waiting this one would be best. Read Full Review

Front Towards Gamer - Lido Dec 12, 2013

I will admit that Conan and the People of the Black Circle issue 3 isn't as bad as the previous two issues, it's not nearly as lazy as issue 1 or as clogged as issue 2 but that doesn't make it good either, what it is more than anything is mediocre. The artwork is the worst part about with tons of lazy backgrounds, awkward posing, and flesh colored eyes (oh and the covers a complete lie because of course it is) but the story itself isn't that bad it's just so unimpressive. You read it and almost immediately forget what you just read, it washes over you in a wave of snow, muscles, and made up words but it makes no real impact. After reading Conan and the People of the Black Circle I wasn't angry or tired or annoyed, I just shrugged my shoulders and moved on to the next part of my life, no better and no worse than I was before. I guess if you wanted to read that there's no harm in it, I just don't see why you'd want to, I know I certainly don't. Read Full Review
