The art is just gorgeous. All of the shadows and coloring give the book just the right feeling. The blood splatters all over the page in a bright red that draws you in. The scene in the church especially is just gorgeous and makes the fight scenes just that much better. Read Full Review
The plot may be a bit generic but the chemistry between Belit and Conan and their ability to kick some ass and take some names is definitely worth the price of admission. Also, this is a great jumping on point for any who may have missed out when this title first came out and are hoping to jump on board. It is however worth noting that overall story builds from arc to arc, so it would be recommended to pick up volume 1 & 2, which are released in a great hardcover, to fully appreciate the title. This book may still be worth taking on an arc by arc basis, but coming off the brilliant Nightmare of the Shallows, the omens point to this team making Conan a rich, timeless, and refreshingly art-led read. Read Full Review
Conan is sinking. It's not horrific but damn is it vanilla. I read it and, outside of the art I just can't think of many reasons to come back. The novelty of a jacked guy with a broadsword is a powerful thing, but all charms have their limits. Read Full Review
