Even though, the story maybe unique in context of the Grendal saga it is simplistic and predictable in the context of every piece of media that has come out before it. The art is well done and the action is the main selling point of Grendel: Devils Crucible Defiance #2. The focus on Grendel Primes characterization does allow for an extremely engaging read. Still enjoying this book a lot. The art is gritty and good in a nostalgic way, the story is interesting and the writing is pretty good. I'll say the uh... sexual scenes, the one just before the big fight and then the last page, weren't something that I'm looking for in a comic...but I can look past them for how enjoyable the rest of the book was. More post apocalyptic dystopian Grendel stuff please!
